The students of East West College of Pharmacy played a key role in World Patient Safety Week 2024 at Sagar Hospitals, which was held from 17th to 20th September 2024. Their participation, particularly in the Clinical Pharmacy and Hospital Infection Committee (HIC) stalls, showcased their knowledge and engagement with healthcare providers and patients.
At the Clinical Pharmacy stall, under the guidance of Dr. Gifty M Chakko and Dr. Avez Ahmed, the students discussed high-risk medications, their monitoring, and the spread of multi-drug-resistant organisms (MDROs). Meanwhile, in the HIC stall, coordinated by Dr. Chandhana Devaraj and Mr. Sandeep N, they focused on transmission-based precautions and antibiotic resistance. Both stalls attracted considerable attention with interactive games that enhanced the learning experience.
On September 19th, during the poster presentation, our students impressed judges and contestants alike with innovative posters, earning them awards for their creativity and efforts.
The event, which included participation from several other hospital departments, concluded on September 20th with a quiz competition and closing ceremony. The students’ involvement has been a significant highlight, reinforcing their potential as future healthcare leaders.
