East West College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, successfully conducted a four-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Research Techniques in Pharmacy Education”, sponsored by the Vision Group of Science and Technology (VGST), Government of Karnataka. The programme was held from January 19 to 22, 2026, at the Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Auditorium, EWIT Campus.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Geetha Ramanujam, Founder of GR Educational Institutions and former Principal, National College, Jayanagar, Bengaluru, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Ravikumar K. R., Founder & Managing Director, Robust Materials Technology Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour. The session was presided over by Dr. Rashmi Ravikiran, Chairperson, EWGI, Bengaluru, who delivered the presidential address.
The programme witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries including Dr. Purushotham B., Director – Admissions, EWGI; Dr. Purnima Ashok, Dean (R&D), EWGI; and Dr. M. N. Inamdar, Principal, East West College of Pharmacy.
The FDP attracted 50 participants from 26 pharmacy colleges across Karnataka. The programme featured 10 eminent resource persons from academia and industry, who delivered expert lectures, conducted interactive sessions, and provided hands-on training on emerging artificial intelligence tools, advanced research methodologies, and their applications in pharmacy education and professional practice.
A distinctive highlight of the programme was the industry visits to two leading pharmaceutical industries, which enabled participants to gain real-time exposure to industrial practices, innovation, and technology integration.
The FDP concluded on January 22, 2026, with a valedictory session graced by Dr. Sirise Kranti Kumar, Registrar, Karnataka State Pharmacy Council, Bengaluru, as the Chief Guest.
The programme reflected East West College of Pharmacy’s commitment to empowering faculty members with future-ready skills and strengthening academia–industry collaboration for the advancement of pharmacy education in Karnataka.
