On June 26th 2025, the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was commemorated with campaigns held all over India. The NSS Unit of EWCP scheduled a program to raise awareness among the students as a part of this. The program was presided by distinguished special guests, Dr. Punyavathi C Nagaraj, Gynaecologist, Punya Hospital, Bengaluru & Mr. Amaresh, Sub Inspector of the Police Department, Byadarahalli Police Station, Bengaluru. Dr. Punyavathi featured about the detrimental impacts of substance abuse, drug induced infertility in women and how drug abuse may sway the women’s mental and physical health. Sri Amaresh emphasized more about the law and enforcement on drug abuse through a short video clip. He promoted drug avoidance and educated the students about “Say no to drugs”. Further, he counselled students to manage their energies for their religious beliefs, happiness, and good health.
