The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of East West College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, organized a Free Mega Health Camp on 25/04/2026 and a Blood Donation Drive on 25/04/2026 and 27/04/2026 at Sir Visvesvaraya Hall, EWIT, with the objective of promoting voluntary blood donation and providing essential healthcare services to the community. The programme was successfully conducted under the able leadership of the EWCP NSS Unit, in association with Kiran Foundation (R) and Rotary Bangalore South, with the aim of fostering healthcare awareness and community service.
The programme was inaugurated by Chairperson Smt. Rashmi Ravikiran, Secretary Tejas Ravikiran and Campus Director Dr. Purushotham B. The camp was conducted in collaboration with Kiran Foundation (R) and Rotary Bangalore South, where a team of qualified medical professionals from Sapthagiri Medical Sciences, Ramaiah University, Raja Rajeswari Dental College and HAIF carried out the activities.
During the camp, free health check-ups such as blood pressure measurement, blood sugar testing, general health examination, and medical consultation were provided to the beneficiaries. Simultaneously, eligible donors voluntarily donated blood following proper medical screening and safety protocols.
The camp received an enthusiastic response from students, staff, and members of the community. A total of 150 units of blood were collected, and more than 300 beneficiaries availed themselves of the health services provided. Refreshments and certificates were distributed to the donors as a token of appreciation.
The programme was successfully conducted with the active participation of NSS volunteers and the support of the institution’s management and medical team. The camp helped create awareness about the importance of maintaining good health and the life-saving significance of blood donation.
