The NSS Unit of East West College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, organized the Nasha Mukt Yuva Programme on 2nd August 2026 to create awareness among students and youth about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse. The programme focused on sensitizing students to the physical, psychological, social, and academic consequences of substance abuse and emphasized the importance of adopting healthy and responsible lifestyles. The students were encouraged to resist peer pressure, make informed choices, and actively contribute towards creating a drug-free society.
On this occasion, an online awareness talk was given by the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi Ji, to all the Yuva participants. The programme concluded with a Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge, wherein the students and NSS volunteers pledged to stay away from drugs and promote awareness among their peers and the community.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and NSS volunteers and successfully reinforced the message of “Say No to Drugs and Yes to a Healthy Life.”
In recognition of the institution’s active and meaningful participation in the Nasha Mukt Yuva Programme, East West College of Pharmacy was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru. The recognition acknowledges the college’s commitment to promoting awareness among students and youth on the harmful effects of substance abuse and its continued efforts towards fostering a healthy, responsible, and drug-free society.
