by admin,

On February 10th, 2025, East West college of Pharmacy organized an awareness program to commemorate International Epilepsy Day – on the theme “My Epilepsy Journey”. The primary objective of this event was to educate and spread awareness about epilepsy. The program was conducted at KLE Law College (A non-science background intuition), where over 130 students participated, and also at East West College of Pharmacy, with an audience of more than 50 students.

The session covered various aspects of epilepsy, including its significance, causes, risk factors, symptoms, types of seizures and the availability of free medication in primary healthcare. The key highlight of the event was a demonstration on how to assist a person experiencing a seizure, supported by an informative video and a live demo.

To enhance engagement, posters were created and displayed within the premises. Additionally, to evaluate the effectiveness of the program, assessment via MCQ’s was conducted to the audience, yielding positive feedback. The session concluded with an interactive group discussion, fostering insightful conversations and reinforcing the importance of epilepsy awareness. This event served as a significant step toward educating the community about epilepsy and equipping individuals with the necessary knowledge to provide support in emergency situations.
