East West College of Pharmacy, Benagluru organized a “Pharmacovigilance case processing using softwares including AI tools” – Upskilling and Certification Program of Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC) under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0. It was a significant step towards empowering pharmacists with enhanced skills and competencies with the training period of 5 days. The program was inaugurated by esteemed dignitaries, including Sri Gangadhar V Yavagal (Chief Guest-President of KSPC), Dr. Sirse Kranti Kumar (Guest of Honor-Registrar of KSPC), Dr. Salma Khanam (Guest of Honor-Coordinator of KSPC), and our in-house dignitaries, Dr. Purushotham B (Director, EWGI), Dr. Purnima Ashok (Dean of Research and Development, EWGI), and Dr. Md. Naseeruddin Inamdar (Principal, EWCP). A total of 38 candidates had registered for this comprehensive training program.
Program Highlights:
- The program began with an Inaugural and Orientation Session, setting the tone for the five-day training.
- Topics covered included Introduction to Pharmacovigilance and AI in Drug Safety, emphasizing AI’s role in healthcare.
- Sessions on Adverse Event Identification, Reporting, and Case Processing provided key insights into pharmacovigilance workflows.
- Training on Pharmacovigilance Software Tools and AI Tools for Automation enhanced technical competencies.
- Key areas such as Signal Detection, Risk Management, Quality Control, and Case Validation were explored in depth.
- Regulatory Reporting, Compliance, and Case Studies offered practical knowledge aligned with industry standards.
- The program concluded with assessments (written and viva voce) to evaluate participants’ learning outcomes for which the certificates will be issued subsequently.
The event successfully combined theoretical knowledge with practical applications, equipping participants with essential pharmacovigilance skills.
