The Pharmacognosy Department of East West College of Pharmacy organized an industrial visit to the Central Ayurveda Research Institute on 29th January, 2025. A total of 41 students from the fifth semester B. Pharm, accompanied by two faculty members, participated in the visit.
The Central Ayurveda Research Institute is renowned for its multidisciplinary research and integrative healthcare initiatives. The visit commenced with an informative lecture on pharmacovigilance in Ayurvedic products, covering the process of filling out an Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) form and emphasizing the significance of ADR reporting by the general public.
Following the lecture, students explored the Drug Standardization Research Unit, Herbarium, and Museum. They gained valuable insights into phytochemical analysis, extraction techniques, and the crucial role of herbal drug standardization. The SMPU (Survey and Cultivation of Medicinal Plants Unit) team provided a detailed demonstration of High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC), which proved highly beneficial for the fifth semester students.
