Two-Day Workshop on “Decoding Molecules: A Workshop on QSAR and Predictive Modeling”
by admin,

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at East West College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, successfully organized a two-day workshop on ligand-based drug design, titled “Decoding Molecules: A Workshop on QSAR and Predictive Modeling”, held on the 5th and 6th of June 2025. The invited resource person, Dr. Prashantha C N, Director, Scientific Bio-Minds, Bengaluru, aimed to provide hands-on training in computational drug discovery techniques, with a special focus on Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship (QSAR) modelling.

Day 1 sessions introduced participants to fundamental concepts such as target identification, protein structure retrieval, ligand preparation, and molecular docking. Day 2 focused on QSAR modeling techniques, including descriptor generation, dataset preparation, statistical model building, and validation strategies. The resource person provided practical demonstrations, enabling participants to perform QSAR analysis using real-time data.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation, including faculty and UG students. The interactive nature of the sessions and the clarity of the resource person were highly appreciated by the attendees. The event concluded with a valedictory session, where participants shared their experiences and received certificates of participation. The workshop positively enhanced the knowledge and skills of participants in the domain of computational drug design and predictive modeling.
