NATIONAL SEMINAR ON “AI IN PHARMACY: THE FUTURE OF DRUG DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY”

On 1st August 2025, the Department of Pharmacy Practice at East West College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, successfully organised a landmark National Seminar themed “AI in Pharmacy: The Future of Drug Development and Delivery”—a gathering of 290 delegates spanning leading academicians, industry experts, researchers, and students from across India. The chief guest Dr Sirse Kranti Kumar, Registrar of the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council, emphasised AI’s transformative potential across drug discovery, clinical trials, formulation, quality control, and end‑user delivery, and underscoring the critical need for AI‑enabled pharmacy education and innovation. Expert-led technical sessions included: Dr Prashantha C N (REVA University) on AI‑accelerated drug discovery and precision medicine; Mr Sreekanth Tadipatri (software‑development consultant) on pharmacy operations and patient care optimisation; Dr Nagamani K (RV College of Engineering) on big data mining for novel drug targets; Dr Chetana Srinivas (PES University) on AI‑driven formulation, quality control and regulatory compliance; and Dr Achyutha Prasad N (EWIT) on AI’s full‑pipeline role from molecular modelling to market surveillance. A special presentation by Ms Shruthi K Murthy, Head of Partnerships at Clini Launch Research Institute highlighted the vital role of industry–academia collaboration in developing AI‑ready pharmacy professionals. The seminar received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with participants lauding the depth and diversity of content, and reinforcing EWCP’s commitment to nurturing interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, academic excellence, and innovation at the intersection of AI and pharmaceutical sciences.
