“Standing Up for Infection Prevention: Pharm. D. Interns Shine at IIPW 2025”

Pharm. D. interns of East West College of Pharmacy proudly participated in the International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) 2025, held from October 19th– 25th, 2025 at Sagar Hospitals under the inspiring theme “Stand UPPP for Infection Prevention.” The celebration highlighted the importance of infection control and patient safety across the hospital community. Interns showcased their dedication through poster presentations on infection control and World Patient Safety Day, a quiz competition that encouraged active learning, and a creative interactive game — “Hit the Right Bacteria.”

The event also featured insightful interactions with Dr. Preeti Adoni (Managing Director), Dr. Sharath Chandra (Vice President-Purchase), Mr. Venkateshwara Prasad (CFO), Mr. Prabhu (HR Head), Dr. Chandana (HIC Department Head) and many others from other departments.

Their appreciation for the interns’ enthusiasm, innovation, and teamwork made the event truly memorable, reaffirming the Pharm. D. interns’ commitment to advancing infection prevention and patient safety within healthcare.

The Pharm. D. interns actively participated in the poster presentation competition. The event provided an excellent platform for them to exchange ideas, enhance their understanding of infection control practices, and develop valuable research and presentation skills. The team achieved remarkable success by securing three prizes in the competition, reflecting their dedication to professional development, commitment to patient safety, and adherence to evidence-based clinical practice.
