The programme commenced with an inaugural session, during which university Vice Chancellor Dr. Bhagavan B C and other university dignitaries addressed the participants and emphasized the significance of environmental conservation, sustainable living, and active public participation in safeguarding natural resources.
Following the inauguration, participants enthusiastically joined the Walkathon at Lalbagh Botanical Garden and its surrounding areas, carrying placards and promoting awareness on environmental conservation, pollution prevention, waste management, and climate action. The event concluded with an environmental pledge, through which participants reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable living and environmental stewardship, underscoring the impact of collective efforts in creating a greener and healthier future.
The event witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, administrative staff, and NSS volunteers, demonstrating the university’s commitment to environmental stewardship. The Walkathon successfully raised awareness about environmental issues and inspired participants to become responsible citizens dedicated to preserving the planet for future generations.
